Down the sweeping drive, the rambling farmhouse, along with its separate, self-contained apartment, is welcoming and homely, with lots of quiet nooks and crannies to escape to for some peaceful moments. Although, of course, there’s a huge dining table and lounge for more sociable encounters. There’s a lovely farmhouse kitchen complete with AGA, outside dining spaces on the terrace with far-reaching views and 15 acres of grounds with a lily-covered pond.
Period features, some dating back to the 1600s, add charm to the house, with exposed beams, herringbone brickwork and original fireplaces. Well-appointed bedrooms named after flowers offer sweeping views across the gardens and the cobbled courtyard.
There’s a putting/croquet lawn and a practice golf course and a heated indoor pool for an enlivening start to your day. The natural beauty of Thorndon Country Park is right on your doorstep or head into town from nearby Shenfield Station with frequent trains taking just 20 minutes to Liverpool Street.

The house is set in the Essex countryside, just outside the M25, yet from the highest point of the estate you can see Canary Wharf. The 500 acres of Thorndon Country Park are 2 minutes’ walk away.
We are located a 10 minute drive from Shenfield Station, where London transport links take only 20 minutes.
